Following the decision of the Seventh International Conference “Marine Mammals of the Holarctic” (Suzdal, Russia, September 2012) the Marine Mammal Council (Russia) is organizing the Eighth International Conference “Marine Mammals of the Holarctic”.
Marine Mammal Council (MMC) is a unique community of expert professionals, which brings together all the leading researchers of marine animals in Russia and Ukraine, the United States, Canada and other countries. Biennially MMC holds an International conference called "Marine Mammals of Holarctic", where the experts share their experience on the results of the latest techniques and zoological researches.
The conference is planned to be held on the base of SUE «Vodokanal of St. Petersburg», St. Petersburg, Russia during 22-27 September 2014.
The purpose of the Conference is to discuss results and prospects for study, conservation and use of marine mammals of the northern Hemisphere.
Discussion of the problems connected with environmental problems of Baltic is planned for Conferences (including the Gulf of Finland and Ladoga Lake). There will be organized photo exhibition and display of video records, and also the results of the All-Russian competition of children's drawings of sea animals will be summed up. |
